| Description | APPLY TO: 1101-mh430@apply.maxhire.net Location: Austin, Texas Job Description: Controlled Penetration Testers (CPT) should be experienced security consultants with demonstrable experience and skills in conducting controlled penetration tests. Testers have at least six (6) years demonstrable professional experience conducting security assessments, specifically for controlled penetration testing. They must be able to perform active analysis of the system for any potential vulnerability that may result from poor or improper system configuration, hardware/software flaws, current operational weakness or technical countermeasures. Penetration Testers must be able to engineer security solutions to protect a variety of users, applications, platforms and computing environments, including development and maintenance of security testing and vulnerability assessment tools, methodology and procedures. Testers will have solid experience in networking and security including strong knowledge of all elements of LAN and WAN Internet, vulnerability assessments and encryption. They should be able to show proficiency with various network, host and application security protocols, tools and vulnerability assessment packages. Responsibilities: • Conduct hands-on security evaluations, threat modeling and penetration testing of applications and systems infrastructure. • Perform active analysis of the system for any potential vulnerability that may result from poor or improper system configuration, hardware/software flaws, current operational weakness or technical countermeasures. Qualifying Experience and Attributes: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent years of experience. • Possess Formal Security Qualifications (focused degree, CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), NSA IAM/IEM (Information Assurance Managerial/Infrastructure Evaluation Methodology) or ITPC Information Security competencies). • Minimum of six (6) years IT/technical experience is required, to include: o Three (3) or more years of progressive information security experience, preferably with Federal/State Government projects. o At least three (3) years experience performing penetration testing using formal methodologies. • Experience using Vulnerability Assessment/Penetration Testing tools in categories noted above, at a minimum. • Proven experience with reconnaissance and footprinting tools, vulnerability scanners, sniffers, spoofing tools, brute force methods and password cracking. • Proficiency using proxies, fuzzing techniques and web application testing. • Well-versed in secure internetworking technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, intrusion prevention systems and VPNs as they relate to the external security posture of a client organization. • Possess application knowledge of NIST SP 800-40 v2, 800-41, 800-42 and Open Source Security Testing Methodology. • Possess secure software development experience and/or solid scripting/coding skills. • Possess knowledge of cryptographic standards, ciphers, algorithms and PKI. • Strong written and verbal communications skills a must. Desired Skills: • Experience with wireless attacks. • Real-world experience with physical entry methods. • Experience and expertise in social engineering methods preferred. • Demonstrate capacity to analyze and apply technology solutions which meet the security control requirements specified by FISMA (Federal Information Security Management Act), OMB (Office of Management and Budget), and NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) guidance. • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, customer service skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to multitask. • Web-oriented programming skills are highly desirable. ****RELOCATION ASSISTANCE NOT PROVIDED**** |
